Guardian Fioritura

Fioritura is a small game prototype we made in one of our University class. In Fioritura, an isometric puzzle game, take control of a small botanist capable of altering their perception of the environment by transplanting magical flowers into their head. You will have to traverse their once harmonious garden to contain the source of the chaos afflicting it.

In this project, I was the Lead Artist and took care of character, environment, and lighting. I made sure the art style stayed consistent by giving advice and helping out other artists. I did the lighting for all worlds and created some parts of the environment. Plus, I built the main character.

I started working on the main character by gathering references for different body parts. Once I had enough ideas, I used Zbrush to sculpt the character. When I was happy with how it looked, I brought it into Maya to do some technical stuff like retopology and UV mapping. While doing this, I kept switching back and forth between Maya, Zbrush, Unreal Engine, and Substance Painter to make sure everything fit together nicely.

After that, I created all the textures and got everything ready for use in Unreal Engine. Throughout the project, I had to work closely with animators, programmers, and designers to make sure everything worked smoothly. It was a team effort!
